Event identity for Bar Ista at New Kam Hing, an Oatly pop-up initiative that turns daytime coffee shops into nightclubs.

Bar Ista landed at New Kam Hing, a beloved Chinatown bakery known for its sponge cakes and long standing neighborhood presence. The project draws from the informal graphic vernacular of Kam Hing’s signature Chinatown storefront, where decades of handwritten signs, stickers, aging labels, and playful food characters accumulate into a living visual language shaped by the community itself.

These everyday elements became the foundation for the event identity. Crooked typography, layered stickers, improvised compositions, and familiar motifs from the bakery were translated into posters, menus, sandwich boards, and a T-shirt so the graphics feel embedded in the space, allowing the pop-up to sit naturally within the shop while amplifying the playful energy of the nighttime takeover.

I led the concept development, created all graphic assets and deliverables, including poster, menus, sandwich board, glass bottle, and T-shirt.
